Lucy Tovar Murillo, APCC #7431

Hola! My name is Lucy Tovar Murillo and I have been in the field for about 15 years. I find great passion in working with individuals from all walks of life. Over the years, I have been able to help clients who are struggling with trauma & abuse, grief & loss, depression, anxiety & stress, and women issues, such as post-partum depression. My approach is driven from a compassionate and nonjudgmental perspective. I like my clients to feel I am walking alongside them; encouraging them to lead their own journey through unconditional support. I know therapy can be hard but knowing there is a chance to change the way we think and feel helps to create motivation to “stick with it.” If clients are not sure about therapy, I encourage them to invest at least 2-3 sessions and then make that final decision. I am confident it will be the best investment for yourself!

I have had the privilege of living on the west and east coasts, which has helped in my growth as a person as well as a clinician. Learning about different cultures has been an important element woven into my practice. My therapy approach uses a mixture of interventions pulled from trauma-informed practices, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR and mindfulness.

More about me personally: I am married and have 2 kids; my daughter is 9 y/o and my son is 16y/o. I love spending time with my family, exploring new coffee shops and going to theater shows (movies and Broadway). I take great pride in being a Mexican American as well as speaking Spanish (even though my kids “forgot” all their Spanish!). My future goal: plan a trip overseas!
