Ready for Your Next Level?
Hola, mucho gusto! I'm Carolina. I hope you read that in Spanish!
I know, the headline is a little cheesy, but I absolutely believe in the next level, especially your next level.
When I founded Desert Insight, one of the hardest parts was finding a name that embodied the work I wanted to do. I had no idea that six years later, the logo and those words would mean so much to me.
The name was born out of something I innately believe: insight belongs to the people. It belongs to you. My work isn't to tell you who you need to become. It's to help you identify what is already there, loud and clear, so you can use it to move toward your goals and what has been referred to as your “higher self.”
Six years later, with a growing company of my own, there is plenty I've learned that I want to share with others who are building careers, businesses, and lives they are proud of, especially fellow Latino professionals and entrepreneurs.

Executive Coaching vs. Therapy: What’s the Difference?
As a therapist, I am very focused on symptoms. As a trauma specialist, I pay close attention to how mental health symptoms, especially trauma, affect everyday functioning: eating, resting, sleeping, concentrating, connecting with others, and even feeling safe enough to slow down.
I do this work with many years of direct experience, research, reading, and evidence-based approaches including EMDR, ego state work, somatic work, and inner child work.
As a therapist, the goal is symptom reduction. As an executive coach, the goal is different: I help you connect back to yourself so you can move toward your goals.
There is definitely overlap in the tools I use. Coaching with me still includes a lot of mind-body awareness and exploring both conscious and unconscious beliefs. And yes, sometimes connecting back to yourself and feeling better come hand in hand. The difference is what we're targeting.
In coaching, I don't target symptoms. I target goals.
And sometimes even identifying the goal can be hard. I pride myself on helping people identify practical steps that align with who you are, where you are, and where you want to go.
After each coaching session, you can expect more clarity and tangible next steps tied directly to your goals. Steps that, with intention and concerted effort, can help move you closer to where you want to be.
I will say this, though: in both my work as a therapist and as a coach, I will not sell you something I don't believe I can deliver. That's why a first meeting with me is important. We can talk about what you're looking for, what I can realistically help you with, and whether I'm actually the right person for the work.
