Janette Avila, AMFT #117835

In life, we may find ourselves in situations that leave us feeling unheard, overwhelmed, and uncertain. I'm Janette, and I'm here to guide you with compassion and understanding. With 14 years in the mental health field, I have a passion for helping individuals seeking support for depression, anxiety and life transitions. I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. We'll work together to find what works for you.

I believe it is completely normal to feel nervous about going to therapy. I've been in therapy before to help me process some unknown feelings when I moved to a new city and went through a divorce. It was helpful to learn how to name and process those emotions. Later on, while I was pursuing my education, I found myself pregnant and alone. Although it was difficult to face, the skills I learned in therapy helped me manage my anger and sadness. I understood that those feelings were completely normal and that everything would eventually "be okay".

If you've read this far, I hope you know it takes courage to seek and get support. We'll be here when you're ready.

ABOUT ME: Outside of my professional life, I find joy in spending time with loved ones, engaging in activities like trail walks, dancing, and participating in community service.
