Jessica Ruiz, AMFT#142251
Hi, I’m Jessica. I know starting therapy can feel scary, vulnerable, or even a little awkward—especially if it’s your first time or if things in life feel overwhelming right now. I want you to know that you’re not alone, and you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works mostly with teens and young adults—people who are navigating big feelings, identity shifts, anxiety, relationship stress, or just feeling stuck and unsure of what’s next. My approach is laid-back, collaborative, and rooted in creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are—no pressure, no judgment.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in school settings, foster care, residential treatment, and crisis support, which gave me a deep understanding of how much life can throw at us—and how important it is to have someone in your corner. I use tools from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based therapy, but more than anything, I focus on building a genuine connection and working together to find what helps you feel grounded, safe, and heard.
I’m bilingual (Spanish/English) and passionate about serving diverse communities with cultural awareness and care. I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, so I make space for your unique story, background, and pace.
Therapy doesn’t have to be perfect to be helpful. It’s okay to take it one step at a time—and I’d be honored to walk with you through it.
A little about me: Outside of the therapy room, you’ll usually find me exploring new hiking spots, relaxing at the beach (my favorite place to reset), or spending time with my husky, Charlie. I also love animals, trying out new coffee or matcha spots, cooking for loved ones, and traveling to places that inspire me.
